For some time now the AIYA has been looking for a source of young hospitality professionals able to take on positions on board yachts. Fate wanted the Lycée Hôtelier Paul Augier to contact us to indicate that, following a twinning project within the framework of the European E-Job program, promoted by three Italian vocational schools specializing in yachting activities in Viareggio, Italy , the Lycée Paul AUGIER embarked on hotel training specifically for yachting. For hotel positions (stewards / esses and cook / ères), the supply is much lower than the demand: France enjoys a very good reputation in these sectors, but only on land. Yachting is synonymous with excellence in hospitality, offering a luxury sailing hotel service. Antibes attracts a significant percentage of the world's super yacht fleet. This prestigious activity attracts young candidates from all over the world to obtain positions on board. Discussions with the high school showed that the high school produced excellent quality diplomas, but that this path was almost unknown to recruiters and yacht captains, who nevertheless were sometimes desperate to find good candidates. Hence the idea of bringing together the world of captains with the world of hotels, to get to know each other better.
In this period when we are undergoing an economic crisis linked to the events of the coronavirus, Paul AUGIER's events are proving to be an opportunity to bring together as many institutions and decision-makers as possible in order to offer them a concrete project allowing to revive the economy. of our companies revolving around Professional International Yachting. At the end of this presentation, recruiters who wish will be able to propose and discuss with our candidates who will have all the assets for immediate embarkation.
The Antibois basin has an unrecognized heritage of skills at a high level of service to meet the most demanding demands that have hitherto been unsatisfied. However, the training provided by our national education system has reached its limits and does not correspond to the specific needs of the profession and more particularly when it comes to responding to an international demand facing a competitive market.
In addition to this, you need to know more about it.
Today AIYA surrounded by its partners is ready to take up the challenge. However, without support from our institutional authorities, our project has little chance of success. Recognizing a maritime section dedicated to the trades of Professional International Yachting in Antibes would be a major step forward for all of our partners and for the local and general economy.
